Along Cache Creek you may see a variety of birds including cormorants, green herons and great blue herons. Other Usual Suspects include river otters, turtles, deer, and occasionally even a bear or its tracks. In spring when the water is high, you can paddle into the tule marsh area where grebes nest and you'll often see carp jumping out of the water. It takes about one hour to paddle from Clear Lake Boat Rental to the  beginning of Cache Creek past Garner Island.
